Tips for using the Transform Your Triggers guided audio
The Transform Your Triggers guided audio is my #1 tool for creating deep and lasting change in any area of life. Here’s why:
Transform Your Triggers is designed to communicate directly with your unconscious mind.
Here’s how this works:
The unconscious mind learns in a hypnotic, suggestive state. Science has shown that, until the age of seven children exist largely in a hypnotic state in order to absorb programs for ‘how to be’ in the world by unconsciously through observing caregivers and the environment
To reprogram the unconscious mind, it’s essential to recreate a similar state of hypnotic suggestibility
The unconscious mind does not communicate in logic or linear reality. It ‘speaks and listens’ to images, intuition, imagination, emotions, symbols and memories – all of which are intentionally accessed though guided audios
The unconscious mind learns through repetition. Guided audios are designed to be used daily (or every time you feel triggered) in order to create new neural pathways that overwrite programs created in childhood
Lastly, the overarching purpose of your unconscious mind is to keep you safe and ensure your survival based on what it knows. The guided audio allows you to recreate a sense of safety that links to what you want to create, allowing your unconscious mind to gradually let go of the old safety program that is no longer serving you
What to use Transform Your Triggers for:
Transform you triggers can be used to create deep change whenever you feel a strong negative emotion or experience negative behaviours and repetitive scenarios that feel outside of your conscious control.
1. Strong negative emotion: When you feel a strong emotion that feels out of proportion to the situation. For example, rage, jealousy, fear, anxiety or anger. The aim is to find out what the emotion is communicating and access the linked memories
2. An addictive habit or pattern: Including anything from major or mild substance addictions to habits like procrastination, self-sabotage or compulsive behaviours
3. Behaviours you want to explore and change: This could include your part in a dysfunctional relationship dynamic. For example, shutting down during conflict, trying to control others, manipulating others’ emotions, lashing out or struggling to advocate for yourself or inability to set boundaries
4. Repetitive scenarios: Examples include continuing to end up in the same types of unwanted relationship dynamics, work situations and arguments
How to use guided audios:
Adopt an attitude of curiosity, rather than judgement. Remember, you’re not aiming to shut down the habit or emotion, but to learn more about it so you can transform it gently. The more you refrain from judging your emotions and behaviours, the better hope you have of changing them
Journal about your emotions or behaviours before you start. This will allow your conscious mind to relax and let go during the audio, bringing the unconscious to the fore. Download a journal process here
Journal after listening. Follow up after the audio by journaling what you discover, paying particular attention to the illogical symbolic elements, imagery and emotions you notice
Additional tips to get the most out of Transform Your Triggers:
+ Let go of logic and realistic thinking and allow your unconscious to take over
+ Repeat the audio as often as you can to create new neural pathways
+ Use journal prompts to amplify your understanding and transformation
+ Pay attention and celebrate any evidence you notice that your life is changing as a result of the work you are doing with your unconscious mind. This reinforces your progress!
+ Experiment with listening to the audio whilst walking in nature. Often new insights arrive through symbols and interaction with the natural world as well as being enhanced by the rhythm of walking on the earth
